The New Zealand Open presented by Sky Sport is expected to draw huge crowds to Millbrook Resort’s two championship 18-hole courses from February 27 – March 2 2025.
Entry is free for four days of world-class sport featuring some of the world’s top golfers as 156 professional players from New Zealand, Australia, Asia and beyond compete in a unique Pro-Am format with amateurs, tournament sponsors and sports stars.
The New Zealand Open dates back to 1907 and is the largest event on New Zealand’s golfing calendar. Anticipation is always high as to whether a Kiwi player can lift the Brodie Breeze Trophy after the last putt sinks.
Queenstown has hosted the New Zealand Open since 2014 and Tournament Director Michael Glading describes Millbrook Resort as a “magic place” to host the iconic event.
A roll call of New Zealand Open winners reads like a who’s who of golf, including Sir Bob Charles, Peter Thompson, Corey Pavin and Michael Campbell. And Kiwis such as Greg Turner, David Smail and Michael Hendry all have their name on the iconic trophy. 2024 champion Takahiro Hataji was the first from Japan or Asia to lift the Brodie Breeze trophy, simultaneously notching up his first win as a professional. He’s already confirmed to defend his title, saying Millbrook holds a special place in his heart. “I’d love to have my name on the trophy back-to-back,” he says. Also confirmed is Queenstown local hero Ben Campbell who wants to make the most of his home course advantage. Having come agonisingly close in the past, he says he’ll be doing “everything he can” to have his name on the trophy. Fans at Millbrook Resort can expect a range of food and beverage options, giant
TV screens, fun activities, giveaways and free grandstand seating as excitement builds towards the final day. Sky Sport will broadcast all four days of the tournament with LIVE coverage starting on February 27, along with an evening highlights package.
